User Guide Page 1 - The basics

Things to remember:
The Function keys (F1 through F12) control driving assists.
The 1 key toggles the mirrors and the 2 key toggles the Heads up display (HUD)
ESC returns your car to the pit.
CTRL + F (At the same time) displays your frame rates in the upper right corner. Over 30 FPS is best for game smoothness and car control.
The default key for the rev limiter is L. Having this on will severely limit your speed on the track.
As it is a useful key to use when pitting as it limits you to pit lane speed limits.
Speeding in the pits gets a penalty, in most sessions it does not matter but during a race, it will give you a "Stop-Go" penalty, requiring a pit stop.
I mapped it to a wheel button.

My recommendations for mapped wheel buttons are as follows

Assuming an eight button wheel

  • Rear paddle - Shift Down
  • Rear paddle - Shift Up
  • Look Left
  • Look Right

Pressing both at once will give you a Look Back

  • Cycle LCD
  • Unused
  • Request Pit
  • Rev Limiter
There are more "hot keys" outlined in the manual.

Start the game using one of the first 2 choices and configure your options. More about that HERE.
